Only Breath Freshening Lozenge with Odor Capturing Technology and Provides Complete Oral Hygiene
Patented Sustained Release Technology (SuRe®) Developed by Scientists and Dentists
Dentiva is a soft long lasting mint lozengewhich continuously releases odor capturing and oral hygiene enhancing ingredients for an hour or longer in the mouth. This ensures a fresh odor free mouth for the longest time and provides optimal time to ensure reduction of bacteria in the mouth and neutralization of acids from bacteria which causes tooth decay.Dentiva was developed by scientists who are experts in sustained release technology. They worked with dentists who are experts in oral hygiene and treating bad breath.
As you move the lozenge around in the mouth, it slowly dissolves to release a number of natural active ingredients. The technology allows the incorporation of multiple ingredients to give a complete breath freshening and oral hygiene experience. Other mints mask odors with peppermint; Dentiva has peppermint, but uses an ingredient to capture and eliminate odor causing sulfur compounds. Dentiva's continuous release of xylitol provides optimal reduction of bacteria; a xylitol candy lozenge gives a single dose of xylitol which is then ingested and thus not available for inhibiting bacterial growth. Peppermint is antibacterial, but only in sufficient amounts; only Dentiva provides this benefit. Bacteria secretes acids which causes cavities; only Dentiva provides an acid neutralizing natural ingredient. Only Dentiva provides added calcium for re-mineralizing tooth enamel.
If one has dry mouth, the makers of Dentiva also makes Salese, a lozenge with the same ingredients as Dentiva except Salese also contains an ingredient for creating the moist feel in the mouth. Click here to go to the Salese website.

I have been using the Dentiva lozenges with my patients for over 6 years now and the product has proven itself to be very beneficial for those patients suffering from halitosis. The popularity of this product amongst my patients has really surprised me. What has been amazing is how long lasting the product is and how convenient it is to use. I have yet to see any products that comes close to what the Dentiva lozenges do.

How Sustained Release (SuRe®) Technology Works in Dentiva
The scientists and dentists who created Dentiva realized that the only way to freshen breath or treat bad breath and to provide a complete package for oral hygiene is if they provided continuous bathing of the mouth with the correct ingredients to handle the problems. The duration of a candy lozenge is too short to be effective. As a result, the scientists, who had 20 years of experience in sustained release technology, created the SuRe® Technology to make a lozenge which would last an hour in the mouth to effectively and continuously freshen breath and provide oral hygiene, using multiple natural active ingredients.
The patented technology uses a matrix of the active ingredients in the form of a lozenge or breath mint and holds it together with a cellulose polymer. All ingredients and polymer are edible. As one moves the lozenge around in the mouth, the surface layers of the matrix come off (dissolve), releasing the ingredients. This process continues until the lozenge has completely dissolved or the person decides to chew and eat the lozenge. This is shown below:

For good breath, Dentiva is the only lozenge which has znic to capture volatile sulfur compounds from bacteria, the cause of bad breath. Reducing bacteria is also important to good breath. Dentiva has 2 natural ingredients to accomplish this: 1. Peppermint and other essential oils are used to both kill bacteria and provide that minty taste; 2. Xylitol is added to inhibit bacterial growth. For further oral hygiene, bicarbonate is added to neutralize acids generated by bacteria which cause cavities, and calcium is included to help re-mineralize teeth. No other lozenge offers these advantages. The formulation of Dentiva provides a very good tasting minty flavor that freshens breath and offers excellent oral hygiene.
The role of bacteria is shown below:

The SuRe® Technology not only offers the ability to release multiple ingredients, it offers the ability to deliver the correct amount of ingredients for the correct amount of time, as shown on the graph below:

Advantages of Dentiva
More than a Breath Mint!
Only lozenge with zinc which captures and eliminates Volatile Sulfur Compounds which cause bad breath. Others only mask bad breath with peppermint.
Hours of Fresh Breath!
Patented Sustained Release (SuRe®) Technology ensures longest lasting flavor and fresh breath
Kills More Bacteria!
Sustained release of xylitol results in lower bacteria in mouth for longer time Only Dentiva achieves levels of peppermint and other essential oils required to kill bacteria. Candy and other mints do not achieve these levels. Means Fresher Breath and better Oral Hygiene

Neutralizes Mouth Acids!
Bacteria in mouth creates acids as it feeds on your food and snacks. Acids cause cavities. Bicarbonate in our lozenges neutralizes that acid. Study results below show change in acidity in worse case subjects with excessive dry mouth due to radiation therapy.

Instructions for Using Dentiva
Use Dentiva anytime, anywhere for fresh breath
For best oral hygiene, use Dentiva following meals and snacks.
This prevents the drop in acidity of the mouth after any snack or meals which occur because you are also feeding bacteria when you eat and they produce acids, the cause of cavities.
Instructions
Remove Dentiva from the blister pack. The lozenge is soft so it is easier to break the foil from the back to remove the lozenge.
For best results, allow lozenge to dissolve in the mouth without biting or chewing. Occasionally move lozenge around as you would with any lozenge in the mouth. When your breath feels fresh or you have that dentist-clean feeling, you may remove or chew the lozenge. For maximal lozenge life (an hour or more), don't bite or chew.

Great product. Use one at night and keep a sweet breath all night into the next morning. I'm never without Dentiva and have used the product for 4 or 5 years. I shutter to think what I would do without Dentiva.

Best long-lasting breath lozenge
By Traci on February 9, 2012
As a dental professional, I must say that this is the best solution to bad breath that I have found (wish everyone would use it). It is long-lasting (several hours!), and it really works to remove the bad bacteria that causes bad breath.

My Breath stays Fresh For Hours!!
By SoCalRider on September 5, 2011
This product is amazing. I have since ordered a year supply and my self-confidence has been restored. All other products were just masking my breath which would not stay fresh long after brushing/flossing. For years, I was very self-conscious about my breath and I would never go ANYWHERE without several mints and some gum. I was teased as a kid about my breath and I never got over it. Truth is, I don't know if my breath is bad normally. That was a chance I could not afford to take after a terrible childhood full of jokes about my breath. I am confident that Dentiva is unlike anything on the market. The best part is each one lasts for almost 4 hours before totally dissolving.

A great product!!
By Raymond Ross on March 10, 2012
I have never written a product review but have read many over the years and appreciated those who do write them. I have to step forward now and write a report on this product. If you haven't tried it, you need to!! I started to use this product about a year ago and now won't be without it! I never have to worry about bad breath as it will keep my mouth fresh tasting for hours! I recently moved and in the transition it was about 8 months between dentist appointments. Upon examining my teeth the new hygenist said she was very impressed with how clean my teeth were and she thought I must have had then recently cleaned. Nothing in my routine had changed but the now frequent use of Dentiva. As I understand it the ingredients and in the way it works Dentiva keeps killing the bacteria in your mouth for a long period of time which prevents the plaque from forming. In my case, even some of the areas where I had some gum recession earlier seemed to lessen with the use of this product. If you are out and about and have a meal but you can't brush your teeth, well I can tell you if you put one of these in your month it will not be long before your mouth feels fresh again and feel as if you just recently brushed your teeth. The only down side of the product is you may get the urge to chew it like gum. Please don't. Just every now and then move it around in your mouth to get hours of great fresh breath. A great great product! Try it!
Nice breath mint doesn't contain sugar

My husband is a smoker and these help with smoker breath, while also giving him something sweet that doesn't hurt his teeth. We've been using them for two years now. Our dental hygienist recommended them.

Love this Product!!
By Natalie RDH on April 5, 2012
I love Dentiva!!! I bought Dentiva at a dental trade show and it is awesome for my patients with dry mouth or bad breath. I love this when I am talking alot as I can just put one between my teeth and cheek and not have to worry all day long. I have had it last for 8 or nine hours--as long as I don't bite it. It is a much better value than to chew on gum and a person can only chew on gum for so long before it loses its flavor and makes the jaw tired.

Great for dry mouth due to meds or other reasons. Lasts about 3 to 4 hours in your mouth. Can take it out of your mouth to eat, sleep or whatever then re-use it when ready. Eliminates the need for sugar candies. Xylitol is far trusted then Aspertame or any other substance placed in sugar free candies. I use about 3 a whole day. Sometimes 4 but rarely.

To keep breath fresh, keep a lozenge (or 2) under tongue all day. t's the only freshener I've found that actually works. It does dissolve rather slimy but that can be overlooked since it does the job I need it to do.

Between brushing this is a great product to keep your mouth feeling clean and fresh. One lozenge will last for hours if you can fight off the urge to chew it. At a recent dental appointment the hygenist thought I had had my teeth cleaned recently by someone else. I had not-it was just the requent use of Dentiva! I am sure with this my overall dental health has improved greatly and I will continue to use. For me, no more of the other breath fresheners out there that only work for a few minutes and are gone. This one works so much better than the rest in freshening your breath and improving your dental hygiene. You need to buy and try out this product!

I use Dentiva after meals since it both kills bacteria in my mouth, especially when I can't brush, such as after lunch, and is the best product I have used for getting good breath. The product lasts an hour in my mouth and tastes the same at the end of an hour as when I started. I find that amazing.

Dentiva Value Proposition
The key value proposition for Dentiva is how well it works for fresh breath:
Not only does Dentiva continuously eliminate bacteria and bad breath odors, Dentiva also is good for oral hygiene by neutralizing cavity causing acids and remineralizing teeth.

Other mints and xylitol only lozenges cannot do this.

The second value proposition is that Dentiva is less expensive on a time per use basis:
The average candy mint lasts 3 minutes. Dentiva lasts an hour or longer, depending on how “active” you are in moving the lozenge around in the mouth. This means: 1 Dentiva is equal to 20 candy lozenges in duration. A box of Dentiva contains 12 lozenges. Each box of Dentiva lasts a minimum of 12 hours.
Questions & Answers About Dentiva
Q.
What are the key ingredients in the lozenges?
A.
All of our lozenges are formulated with specific needs of the end user benefits in mind. While many ingredients are shared between many of our products, they are specifically formulated to achieve desired results. For ingredients refer to the Ingredient List for each of our products.
Q.
Do the lozenges stain teeth?
A.
No. Our lozenges are perfectly safe for daily use and they do not stain your teeth.
Q.
How many lozenges can be used during a day?
A.
In most cases 1 to 2 lozenges per day, after meals or snacks, along with regular brushing and flossing, will be sufficient to maintain good oral care.
Q.
Are the products safe for children?
A.
Due to the small size of the lozenge it may present a choking hazard for small children. Please, use all necessary precautions and keep the lozenges away from small children. For older children the lozenges are safe to use.
Q.
Are there any contra-indications or cautions?
A.
All ingredients in our lozenges are FDA approved as food items and are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). We are not aware of any contra-indications or necessary precautions that should be taken. If you think you are having any negative effect, discontinue using the lozenges immediately and consult with your physician.
Q.
Is it Ok to bite or chew the lozenges?
A.
Although the lozenge is designed to rest in the mouth, it is perfectly safe to bite or chew the lozenge. The ingredients will be released in a very short period of time and you may notice a sudden burst of flavor in the mouth.
Q.
What if the lozenge breaks apart?
A.
In some cases the lozenge may start to break apart towards the end of the usage time. You may chew, swallow or spit the pieces out. All of the ingredients in our lozenges are FDA approved as food items and are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). Please note, that lozenges breaking apart is not a product defect, but can happen when the structure of the lozenge wears thin.
Q.
What is unique about the lozenge?
A.
Unlike toothpaste or mouth rinse, the lozenges release the beneficial ingredients over an extended period of time. As a result, they kill more bad breath bacteria and eliminates volatile sulfur compounds which causes bad breath.
Q.
How do the lozenges work?
A.
As the lozenge is moved around in the mouth the beneficial ingredients are released. The more frequently the lozenge is moved around the more rapid the ingredients are released. Conversely, the less the lozenge is moved around the slower the ingredients are released.
Q.
How long do the lozenges last?
A.
The lozenges are designed to last about an hour. Based on how frequently the lozenge is moved around in the mouth it may last a little longer or shorter. Anything plus or minus 15 minutes is still considered to be optimal.
